ABOUT THE EVENT

InclusiF Fitness, a Corporate Wellness company, is proud to announce the Whine Walk Run 5K - an Official Caribbean 5K.  The Caribbean is considered one of the most vibrant places in the world, so our goal is to infuse the sights and sounds of the islands with an regular 5K.  Our objective is to promote healthy living for the entire family and to promote the Caribbean culture of a colorful atmosphere, liveliness, festive costumes, fun, food and lots of dance.

 

Community is a vital part of the Caribbean culture.  While islanders continue to migrate to the United States, we recognize the importance of ensuring our children know and continue to share our traditions with future generations.  Through this inaugural 5K, we hope to jumpstart or continue to inspire islanders to better health.

 

Although this event may be promoted as a “Caribbean 5K”, the event is open to everyone.  A common slogan, in the Caribbean, is One Love.  Help show our unity by inviting family and friends to join us in championing the importance of good health.

GETTING PREPARED

TRAIN FOR YOUR RACE

Get ready for your race by participating in learning and running sessions led by our certified running coaches.  These sessions are designed to demonstrate drills, offer workouts, and introduce the basic skills needed to comfortably complete and recover from your 5K.  Training dates, times and locations will be listed at a later date.

RUN FOR CHARITY

Whine Walk Run 5K is a proud supporter of the Caribbean Association of Georgia, Inc. (CAG) - a nonprofit, humanitarian, and cultural organization that provides services, support, cultural awareness and information in the Metro Atlanta area.  CAG focuses on children, senior citizens, veterans, students, homeless and individuals with low incomes.  Part of the event’s proceeds will benefit CAG programs and health initiatives.

What is a Virtual Run?

Can’t be in Atlanta for the race?  No, worries!

We can still unite and share the Whine Walk Run 5K experience with you doing the WWR5K Virtual Run. 

Yes, you can walk or run anywhere in your island or country, at any time, outdoors or on treadmill. 

No, all whining doesn’t count....lol.

 

Simply submit proof of your walk or run by sending us a copy of your Fitbit or any other program that can record your run.  Pictures and videos are also great and don’t forget to post on your social media pages with #WhineWalkRun5K, tag us and we’ll send you your shirt and medal in the mail.

Why do our Virtual Run?

  • It’s fun, which is our Caribbean spirit of celebrating love, unity and a vibrant life.

  • Although you may be miles away, you will still be recognized as part of our team.

  • Walking or Running is exercise, that at any age, does the body good.

  • Have you seen our shirts?  Yours will be in the mail.

  • Who doesn’t like a little bling? Get your medal, you’ve earned it.

  • Fees go to Charity and we thank you for supporting fitness in your community, and for helping our benefiting non-profit organization achieve it's mission of helping others.  A little here and there, is a lot somewhere!  Again - Thank you!

Whine Walk 5K Release and Waiver

As a participant in the Whine Walk Run 5K, I, for myself, my executor, administrators, heirs, devises and assigns do hereby discharge InclusiF Fitness LLC, Whine Walk Run 5K organization and Piedmont Park, the event site, their management, their officers, board members, employees, members, sponsors, volunteers, organizers or their representatives, or their successors and all cooperating businesses and organizations from all claims of damages, demands, actions, illnesses, death and causes whatsoever in any matter arising from or growing out of my participation in the Whine Walk Run 5K event.

I agree to indemnify InclusiF Fitness LLC and the Whine Walk Run 5K organization for all fines, fees and expenses incurred as a result of the breach of any contractual obligations as a Whine Walk Run 5K participant.

I attest and verify that I am medically able to participate and assume all risks of participation in this event. I understand that I may be photographed, filmed or videotaped at the event. I hereby irrevocably grant to the Whine Walk Run 5K run directors, its affiliates, licensees and collaborators the absolute right and permission to use my likeness and/or voice for any purpose whatsoever, including commercial advertising. I state that I am physically fit and able to run in the Whine Walk Run 5K and I have trained sufficiently for this event.  I also give my full permission for such first aid as deemed necessary to be provided to me on the premises or prior to transport to a hospital for further treatment.

I understand that in case of withdrawal on my part or cancellation due to inclement weather, the registration fee is  non-refundable and that proceeds will be distributed to the non-profit beneficiary of the Whine Walk Run 5k event. 

 

I also understand that registration is non-transferable.

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge that I am 18 years or older and have read and agree to the above release and waiver.

🤔FAQ🧐

Q: What is the minimum age requirement and is a parent or guardian’s consent needed to participate?

A: Children aged 12 to 17 years need the signature of a consenting parent or guardian.  Runners under age 12 are free but may not participate in the 5K unless accompanied by an adult.

 

Q: Where will we find you in the park?

A: We will be at the entrance at the Charles Allen gate in Piedmont park, Atlanta. You won’t miss us!

Q: Is there parking?

A: The WWR5K event doesn’t have official parking, so please be sure to follow street parking rules. We strongly suggest public transportation, carpooling and ride share options. There may be paid parking at the Park Tavern located in the corner of the park at 500 10th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.

 

Q: What is the best GPS address?

A: Try using Charles Allen Dr. & 10th St Atlanta, GA 30308, it may come up as rest rooms, but don’t worry, we’re not in the restrooms.  That’s the address for Piedmont park restrooms and we’ll be across the way. 

Q: What are the routes?

A: Check out the routes here

Q: What should I bring?

A: Flags, flags and more flags.  Represent your island or someone else's.  It's all good because it's One Love!!!  

Q: How long is a 5K?

A: A 5K, or 5-kilometer race, is 3.1 miles.

Q: Can I run a 5K without training?

A: Yes you can just take your time. The park closes at midnight….lol.

Q: Is it OK to walk the entire 5K?

A: Absolutely! That’s why it’s called Whine Walk Run 5K. 

Q: Is this a timed run?

A: Take your time, is the only time that we have.  It’s a Caribbean Fun Run - enough said but, pick your pace up and get back before the goodies are all gone.

Q: Does this run award a medal to finishers?

A: Yes, every finisher gets a medal, and we’ll even throw in a few rounds of applause, however you must be registered by April 17th.  Please note that although all runners get a medal redemption token, registrants after April 17th are not guaranteed a medal.

Q: After I complete the run, what’s next?

A: Let’s get the party started.  The music will be bumping - did someone say Security……???

We will have a few cultural performances, dancing, handing out food and other goodies, dancing, showcasing  our sponsors, Caribbean vendors and organizations and did we mention dancing!  There will also be some prize giveaways (one of them might be you).  Reconnect with old friends and make and new ones.  The Whine Walk Run 5K will be the most lively spot in the park.  One Love!!

Q: Can I have my favorite pet/dog run with me?

A: Unfortunately, no.  Two legs only, four legs will be considered cheating.   

Q: Can I pick up my friend’s packet?

A: Yes you can. You need the name they registered under, to show your I.D and to sign off on the pick-up form.

Q: Is there race day packet pick-up?

A: Yes, the date and location will be announced on or around April 18th under the Packet Pick-up PartyWe highly recommend packet pickup be completed on the designated day. However, life happens so we will have your packet on the event day at check-in. Please note that packets not picked up during the check-in period will be forfeited.

Q: Can you mail my race packet, or can I pick it up after the race?

A: Unfortunately no.  

Q: Are baby joggers/strollers allowed?

A: Yes, please be aware and stay clear of other runners.  Safety is our main priority so stay at the back or on the outside of the walkers/runners.

Q: Will first aid be available?

A:Yes, we will have a First aid box available and EMS on stand-by.

Q. Can I register at packet pick up? What about on race day? 

A: Yes and Yes.  On both days, register on your device, on run day you'll need to show us your confirmation.  Please note that due to the timing of your registration we will not be able to provide a swag bag or T-shirt BUT  we promise to give you a great time.

Q: Will there be a place to leave a drop bag for the race?

A: Unfortunately no.

Q: If I lost or found an item, what should I do?

A: We have a Lost and Found tent; any items not collected that day will be kept for a week.  Please send a message on the www.inclusiffitness.com to collect.  Any item(s) left longer than a week will be donated.

Q: I registered but now I can’t make it, can I get a refund, transfer or defer my registration to next year?

A: Unfortunately no.  Your registration has already been donated to the charity listed and we thank you for supporting this event.

Q. Is this a rain or shine event?

A: Yes it is.  Even if it snows, we’ll carry on and bring the fire.
